Many thanks to everyone who attended our 2008 pride week events, to the speakers and entertainers at our picnic, to our sponsors - and also, of course, to all of our volunteers for their hard work and commitment. We're delighted to report that, across all of our pride week events, attendance increased by 50%, compared to last year.

To conclude our 2008 pride celebrations, we participated in the Toronto pride parade on June 29th. This was the first time ever that LGBT organizations of York Region had been represented in the pride parade and our parade volunteers included representatives from many of those organizations. They carried banners advertizing York Pride Fest and GayYorkRegion.com, as they marched in the parade in front an audience of more than one million spectators.
